Exam marks calculation

Marks Percentage Calculator

Enter marks obtained and maximum marks for each subject. The calculator adds the totals and shows your overall raw percentage.

Enter up to six subjects. Leave both boxes blank for any unused row. Decimal marks and Indian or international comma grouping are supported.

Enter marks obtained and total marks for at least one subject.

How the calculation works

overall percentage = total marks obtained ÷ total possible marks × 100

For example, 82 + 76 + 91 = 249 marks out of 300, so the overall percentage is 83%. Results are rounded to at most four decimal places.

This is a raw total-based percentage. Enter only the subjects and maximum marks that apply to your calculation; the tool does not guess exclusions, weightings, or grading rules.

FAQs

How is the overall marks percentage calculated?

Add the marks obtained in all entered subjects, add the maximum marks for those subjects, then divide marks obtained by maximum marks and multiply by 100.

Does this calculator apply board grading rules?

No. It calculates the raw overall percentage from the marks and maximum marks you enter. It does not apply board, school, best-of-subject, or grade-conversion rules.
